Cleaning the power head

 Perform maintenance when suction power is weak or when dirt becomes a concern.
 We recommend periodic maintenance (about once a month).
Dust and debris stuck to the safety switch, rotary brush, brushes, wheels, air inlet, and rotating sections
might cause damage to the fl oor, reductions in suction power, or malfunctions.
CAUTION
Remove attached dust and debris
Remove the attached dust and debris by using the crevice nozzle or other tools.

Remove any dust and debris by using tweezers or other tools.

Note
Do not subject the safety switch to excessive force. Failure to do so might cause damage.

Before performing maintenance, detach the power head from the vacuum cleaner or extension pipe.

Risk of malfunction or damage to the fl oor
 If dust and debris get tangled in the wheels, the wheels cannot rotate, which might cause
malfunction, wear, or fl oor damage.
 After extended use, the brushes, wheels, and rotary brush might wear down.
Using the power head while they are worn out might damage the fl oor.
You cannot replace the brushes or wheels by yourself. Please contact a Hitachi authorized
service agent to have the brushes, wheels, and rotary brush replaced as a set.
The rotary brush can be purchased as a replacement part. (P.E-30)
