CAUTION
Do not lock the differentials until
D
the wheels have stopped spinning.
Otherwise, the vehicle may move in
an unexpected direction when the
differential locks are engaged, re-
sulting in an accident. This may
also lead to possible damage to dif-
ferential lock component parts.
Do not drive over 8 km/h (5 mph)
D
when the differentials are locked.
If the rear differential or front and rear
differentials are locked, the following sys-
tems will not operate.
It is normal for the ABS warning light,
VSC OFF indicator and "TRC OFF" indica-
tor to be on at this time.

To unlock the differentials, turn the
switch fully counterclockwise.
Unlock the differentials as soon as the
vehicle moves out.
For easy unlocking, slightly turn the steer-
ing wheel in either direction while the ve-
hicle is in motion.
When the differential lock(s) is/are disen-
gaged, check that all of the differential
lock indicator light, ABS warning light,
VSC OFF indicator and "TRC OFF" indica-
tor turn off.
The differentials will also unlock if you
shift the four−wheel drive control lever to
"H2". Never forget to turn off the switch
after using this feature.
To check the indicator bulb, turn the en-
gine switch to the "ON" position, but do
not start the engine.
CAUTION
Do not keep driving with the differen-
tial lock switch on.
VSC (Vehicle Stability
Control)
Helps the driver to control skidding
when swerving suddenly or turning on
slippery road surfaces.
When the TRC, A−TRC and VSC sys-
tems are operating, the slip indicator
light will flash.
