previous ping will have disappeared before you transmit the next. On old paper based
echo sounders the pen spent a long time on the rear side of the paper tray, and that
reduced the ping rate. The EK15 is a lot faster, and you may send out a ping even before
the energy from the previous ping has disappeared.

The EK15 does not "ping".
When the audio transmission has been disabled using this function, the EK15 will
stop with the current echogram shown on the screen.

Ping Mode function

The function is activated by clicking the
Ping Mode
menu.
Purpose
The function is used to control how often the EK15 shall transmit its energy

into the water. For normal use, choose Maximum. This will allow the EK15 to transmit
continuously and as often as possible.
Description
This function allows you to control the behavior of the
