A noise filter (See Fig. 8) may be required. If there is alternator whine or
similar noise during playback, the
Disconnect the YELLOW wire (from step 4) and connects Red wire output
side of filter.
Connect the
RED

harness and BLACK wires (both in and out) to radio chassis (or Ground)

Frequent asked questions
1.
Does the VOL-AUX work on all Volvo radios?
NO;
the VOL-AUX works on select 1984-01 Volvo CD changer Ready "SC", "CT"
and "CR" changer controls radios (8-pin port on back of the radio).
2. My radio has a built-in 6 CD changer, will the VOL-AUX work?
YES. Volvo 3 and 6-CD radios with built-in changers are supported. The
built-in CD changer is not affected, however any external CD changer (in
trunk/hatch etc.) must be disconnected.
3. Can I use the radio buttons to control audio device?
NO; the VOL-AUX does not control your audio device. Use the device built-in
controls to browse music library.
4. Will I be able to make phone calls using this device?
NO; but placing radio in CD changer mode and phone in speaker mode you
will be able to hear caller on the car speakers.
5. What happens if phone rings while playing music?
The phone will mute audio playback, you then decide to take or reject call.
Music playback will resume as soon as call ends.
6. I would like to have an aux jack on the dashboard. Is this possible?
YES; the optional 3.5F-DM dash mount cable provides a dash mount jack for
a factory look and finish. (See Fig. 9)
