The calibration interface consists of the bidirectional K-line data interface (pin 2), the I/O signal line (pin 4) and power supply
(pins 1 and 5).
The download interface consists of the RS 232 data interface (pins 3 and 6) and ground (pin 1). Please ensure that the transmit
(TxD) and receive (RxD) data connections are crossed over in the download cable so that they can be connected to the serial
port of a PC or notebook with a conventional RS 232 interface. Download devices without their own power supply (download
sticks) also use the EFAS device's voltage supply (pin 5).

Working with menus

Making selections in the menus and sub-menus of the EFAS tachograph is effected using the operating keys. The following
instructions show you how you can work with the menus.
Menus can only be accessed when there are no messages or alarms being displayed and the vehicle is stationary. Acknowledge
any warnings with OK to see the standard display.
Example:
In order to work with individual menu items in the menu, first press OK.
The main menu will be displayed.
You can use the cursor keys  and  to select different menu levels.
,
OK opens the menu item and you reach the next lower level.
Repeat selection with the cursor keys and OK until you reach the desired place in the menu.
The key 9 takes you to the next higher menu level.
The instructions below show menu selection in an abbreviated form. The different levels of menu selection are separated
by g arrows.
For example:
OK g Settings g Display g Language signifies the following process:
1.
Press OK.
Use the cursor keys  and  to select the Settings menu. Press OK.
2.
Use the cursor keys  and  select the Display menu. Press OK.
3.
Use the cursor keys  and  to select the Language menu. Press OK.
4.
Current settings are indicated by a preceding ">" character and new settings are indicated by a following question mark "?".
For example, language setting:
> English means that the currently set language is English.
Francais? means that the language will be set to French when OK is pressed. You can select other languages with the
two cursor keys  and .

Using the tachograph smart-cards

Four types of tachograph smart-cards with different access rights are provided for the proper operation of the EFAS tachograph.
The mode of operation of the recording equipment is set depending on which type of tachograph smart-card is inserted and
indicated by a symbol in the display. The
Possible operating modes are:

CONTROL ().
If only one smart-card is inserted, the operating mode will correspond directly to the type of card. The table below explains the
corresponding symbols for the various operating modes:
