Distinctive Ring Pattern Detec-
tion (DRPD) feature
Some phone companies oft'er a distinctive ring pattcrn (DRP) service whereby they
assign two or more telephone numbers with distinctive ring pattems to a single tele-
phone line. lf your phone company ofl'ers such a service. you can have both a fax
number(s) and a telephone number(s) fbr your FAXPHONE using only one relephonc
line.
Your FAXPHONE will autorlratically detect inconring calls. Bascd on the distinctire
ring pattern. the FAXPHONE knows il'the call is ficxn a lax rrachine trying to send a
document or liom a telephone trying to rnake a voicc call.
Use the inttrrmation in this section to set up thc FAXPHONE for use with a DRP

For more details on the DRP service, contact your local telephone company. (Your
telephone company may have a diffbrent name lbr this service. Also, this service may
not be otfered in all areas.)
Types of ring patterns
Your telephone company will assign a distinctive ring pattern to each numbcr whcr.r
ou order the DRP service.
The setting you make with the lbllowing procedure must match the setting assigncd by
the telephone company.
You can set the FAXPHONE to select among the fbllor,r'rng ring patterns:
