Receiving documents manually: MANUAL
MODE _____________________________________
In MANUAL MODE, if you connect the optional handset, a telephone or an extension phone to the fax, you
can receive voice calls as well as manually activate reception of documents. You can activate reception from
the fax or from the extension phone connected to the fax. This is called remote receiving.
• For this mode, you need to connect the optional handset, a telephone or an extension phone to your fax.
(see pp. 1-5, 1-6)
• Make sure the REMOTE RX setting is enabled. (see p. 8-5)
Setting MANUAL MODE

Follow the procedure below to set the receive mode to MANUAL MODE.

Press [Receive Mode] to select MANUAL MODE.
After a few seconds, the LCD changes to this display:

Follow the procedure below to receive a document manually.

Check that Manual is displayed on the LCD.

Check that the optional handset, a telephone or an
extension phone is connected to the fax.
(see pp. 1-5, 1-6)

When you hear the optional handset, telephone or
extension phone ring, pick up the handset.
