1. ACCEPTANCE INSPECTION

Check the following points after the motor has been delivered and before installing it.
Before opening the package, confirm the orientation. If the package is crated, take care for the nails
when unpacking.
a. Check the output (kW), poles (POLE), type (TYPE), voltage (V) and frequency (Hz) indicated on
the nameplate.
b. Check rotation of smoothing the motor be rotated lightly by hand without any catching. (Take care
not to cut your hand on the keyway.)
c. Check the motor no damaged during shipment.
If there are any unclear points regarding the above items or if any damage is found, etc., notify the
model (TYPE), output (kW), number of poles (POLE), voltage (V), manufacturing No. (SERIAL), date of
manufacture (DATE), and situation to Mitsubishi or your dealer.
Do not use a damaged motor or a motor that does not satisfy the specifications. Doing so could lead to
electric shocks, injuries or damage.

2. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

(1) Transportation
For models with a motor weight that exceeds 30kg, suspension bolts (eye-bolts) are provided for
transportation.
These suspension bolts (eye-bolts) are provided for suspending the motor. Thus, never lift the
motor with these suspension bolts (eye-bolts) after the motor has been set on the partner machine,
as it is very hazardous.
(2) Storage
a. Observe the following points when the motor is not to be used immediately after delivery.
(a) Store the motor in a clean and dry place.
(b) For the drip-proof motor, cover the motor to protect if from dust.
(c) When storing the motor outdoors or where it will be subject to humidity, cover the entire
product with a waterproof cover to protect it from rain water.
b. Observe the following points when storing the motor, and periodically (approx. once a month)
check the following points.
(a) Measure the insulation resistance of the windings. If a large drop in insulation resistance is
confirmed, dry the motor according to the winding and insulation maintenance procedures
(refer to section 12). In addition, take measures to prevent moisture. Using the motor with
an insulation resistance of 100MΩ or higher is recommended. Do not use if the insulation
resistance is 1MΩ or less.
(b) Rust preventing agent is applied on the motor to prevent rust from forming during use.
However, check that rust has not formed due to the storage conditions.
(c) When storing the motor for a long time, reapply rust preventing agent on the machining
surface such as the shaft.
(d) When storing the motor for a long time in a warehouse or in the installed state, hand tune
the motor or idly run the motor for five minutes approx. once a month.
(e) Refer to the separate "Long-term storage procedures (BAN-14011)" for further details on
long-term storage of the motor.
