Error codes, messages and solutions

The following table summarises the error codes that appear on Activity reports (see
p. 87), the displayed messages and what to do for each error.

Cause
#005/018
The telephone number you
dialled is busy.
The other party's fax is not
working.
The other party is not using
a G3 machine.
The touch tone/rotary pulse
setting on your fax is
incorrect.
The receiving fax did not
answer within 35 seconds.

The BJ cartridge is empty or
the ink has dried out.
#009
No paper in the fax or there
is a paper jam.

The front cover is open.

Document is jammed.
Action
Try sending the document at
a later time.

have them check their fax.
