Note
• Depending on the input stream, the "DEC. MODE" setting may not be effective.
• The surround sound effect is canceled when the sound mode is set to "SPORTS."
Tip
• The system memorizes the last "DEC. MODE" setting selected for each function.
Whenever you select a function such as "BD/DVD" or "TUNER FM," the "DEC. MODE" setting that was last
applied to the function is automatically applied again. For example, if you select "BD/DVD" with "AUTO" as the
"DEC. MODE" setting, then change to another function, and then return to "BD/DVD," "AUTO" will be applied
again.

Surround sound effect
The system outputs the sound with suitable effect automatically depending on the
source.
• 2 channel source: Outputs 2 channel sound as it is.
• Multi-channel source: Simulates 5.1 surround sound with two front speakers and a
subwoofer. The WIDE STAGE indicator on the front panel display lights up.
• Source from USB/DMPORT input: Produces a clear enhanced sound image.
Outputs 2 channel sound regardless of the audio signal type being input. Multi-
channel surround formats are downmixed to 2 channels. The 2CH indicator on the
front panel display light up.
