5. Basic Photography

5.3 Non-Mydriatic Mode

The Non-Mydriatic mode is designed for photographing the
patient eye without using a mydriatic.
To switch from the mydriatic mode to the non-mydriatic
mode, hold down the observation mode switch for approx.
2 or more seconds.
The observation mode lamp Non-Myd turns on.
The observation monitor is used for retinal observation.
Note: Overexposure may result when photographs of patient eyes are taken using a mydriatic in
the non-mydriatic mode.

5.3.1 Color Photography Mode

Enter the study information into the computer.
Enter the study information with the control software.

Select the color photography mode.
Press the COLOR switch.
Or select the photography mode with the control
software.
COLOR lamp turns on.
COLOR is displayed on the observation monitor.

Disinfect the forehead rest and replace the chin rest paper.

If chin rest paper is not used, disinfect the chin rest.

Have the patient sit down.
If the patient is wearing glasses or contact lenses, instruct the patient to remove them.
Have the patient place his or her chin against the chin rest and his or her forehead against the
forehead rest.
To prevent the risk of infection, wipe the forehead rest with a disinfectant
such as ethanol or glutaraldehyde whenever the patient is changed.
For details on the disinfection procedure, consult a specialist.
To ensure cleanliness, replace the chin rest paper whenever the patient is
changed.
