INDICATION FOR USE:
• C-Spine precaution for trauma patients.
• Immobilization for pre C-Spine surgery.
• Other conditions requiring gross immobilization of the
mid-cervical spine.
SIZE
One-piece
• Maintain neutral alignment. Measure from bottom of
chin to top of shoulder at the neck (Figure 1).
• Position your lowest finger on the sizing line. Select
the size closest to the height of your fingers (Figure 2).
Emt's choice
• Position your lowest finger on the sizing line. Select
the size closest to the height of your fingers (Figure 3).
• Position the collar with the selected size. Press the
lock into the collar until secured. Verify by attempting
to readjust (Figure 4).
Patriot
• Position your lowest finger on the sizing line. Select
the size closest to the height of your fingers (Figure 5).
• Position the collar with the selected size. Press the
lock into the collar until secured. Verify by attempting
to readjust (Figure 6).
APPLICATION
Supine position
• Maintain neutral alignment. Measure from bottom of
chin to top of shoulder at the neck (Figure 7).
Seated position
• Position your lowest finger on the sizing line. Select
the size closest to the height of your fingers (Figure 8).
Secure collar
• Position your lowest finger on the sizing line. Select
the size closest to the height of your fingers (Figure 9).
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not rely solely on extrication collar for sufficient
immobilization.
• Do not use improperly sized collars.
• Always follow local ems authority directions.
