Glossary

DNS (Domain Name System) – A service which converts the domain name into
IP addresses
Domain name – The "descriptive" name for an Internet or network address
Gateway – Component which establishes a connection between two network
systems
IP address – Addresses a device in the network so that it can be reached
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) – Makes it possible to assign a
network configuration to clients via a server
