Starting the navigation
system
To start the navigation system, the
navigation software must be in-
stalled (see p. 46).
Press the NAVI button >.
The navigation display appears.

You can either enter a new desti-
nation or call a stored destination
(see p. 62). If you enter a new des-
tination, you can either enter a new
address (see p. 53) or a point of
interest (see p. 58).
This requires the text input (see the
next section).
Entering characters in the text
input
The text input appears if you have
to enter letters, numbers or special
characters.

Note:
The text input appears only if
you have to select from more
than four options (city names,
street names, etc.). If you have
to select from less than fi ve op-
tions, a list appears instead of it.
You can change to the list at any
time by selecting and confi rming
the List fi eld G.
To input the fi rst character:
The advantage:
Text may already be in the Text
fi eld A (in light-blue colour),
even if you have not yet entered
any text. For example, if you en-
ter a city, the name of the previ-
ously entered city automatically
appears. If you want to adopt this
text in the Text fi eld A, press the
OK button = for longer than
2 seconds or select and confi rm
the OK fi eld F.
Use the menu button < to select
the fi rst character from the char-
acter list C.
The marked character appears in
the "Current character" fi eld B.
