Application:
Corvette C6 2005-2013
Console Cushion, Single Color
Tools Needed
Work on a table or bench covered with a soft cloth. Read through the
complete instructions and study illustrations before starting in order to
familiarize your self with all the steps and helpful TIPS.
STEP 1.
Remove the 4 "Torx" head screws that secure the console lid to the hinge
assembly. Place the 4 screws in the cup holder for re-assembly, (Illus. A).
STEP 2.
Remove the back cover, (7 "Torx" head screws), and set aside, (Illus. B).
STEP 3.
Clean the inside edges of the vinyl where the double sided tape installs with
Isopropyl Alcohol, to remove any oils that might hinder tape adhesion. LET
DRY before tape installation.
STEP 4.
Tape installation; cut a 1" piece of tape off the strip and set aside. Start by
peeling a small amount of the colored tape facing back, (Illus. C). Start beside
the latch assembly, and move clock wise; press the ex- posed side of the
tape onto the inside edge of the lid, (Illus. D). Use your thumb nail against
the white paper backing to work the tape into the vinyl of the lid. After you
have the tape pressed into the vinyl, peel the white facing back. Peeling back
3" at a time of the colored facing, work around the inside edge until you
reach the other side of the latch assembly, (Illus. E). MAKE SURE you saved
a 1" long piece of tape that goes behind the latch assembly. Install the 1"
piece close to the rough edge of the vinyl under the latch assembly, (Illus. F).
Note lid with all the tape in place, (Illus. G). Avoid touching the exposed tape
with your hands as the oils in your skin will weaken the holding strength of
the tape.
