OPERATION

Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the same room as the appliance.
Toddlers, young children and others may be susceptible to accidental contact burns. A physical barrier is
recommended if there are at risk individuals in the house. To restrict access to a fi replace or stove, install
an adjustable safety gate to keep toddlers, young children and other at risk individuals out of the room and
away from hot surfaces.

Reinstall any barrier removed before operating the fi replace. The barrier is designed to reduce the risk of
burns from hot glass. Do not operate the fi replace without the barrier installed.
Do not operate the fi replace if:
• The glass front is removed, cracked, or broken
• The surround trim assembly and screen are not installed
CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING: Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to the fl u with
headaches, dizziness and/or nausea. If you have these signs, obtain fresh air immediately. Turn off the gas
supply to the appliance and have it serviced by a qualifi ed professional, as it may not be operating correctly.
Some people are more affected by carbon monoxide than others, including pregnant women, people with heart
or lung disease or anemia, those under the infl uence of alcohol, and those at high altitudes.
NOTE: Do not place furniture or other combustible materials within 36" of the front of viewing area(s).
NOTE: Children and adults should be alerted to the hazards of high surface temperature and should stay away to
avoid burns or clothing ignition.
NOTE: Installation and repair should be done by a qualifi ed service person. The fi replace should be inspected before
use and at least annually by a professional service person. More frequent cleaning may be required due to excessive
lint from carpeting, bedding material, etcetera. It is imperative that control compartments, burners and circulating air
passageways of the fi replace be kept clean.
NOTE: Do not use these fi replaces if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualifi ed, professional service
technician to inspect the fi replace and to replace any parts of the control system and any gas control which have
been under water.
