Intended use

Only solids, liquids or powders substances may be analyzed with this unit.
The unit analyzes and identifies various materials. Only such materials may be
analyzed for which the unit has been calibrated by the manufacturer or by qualified
technical personnel.

Prohibited operating conditions

Do not operate the instrument if one of the following conditions exists:
The instrument is faulty or damaged.
The instrument is not maintained at regular intervals.
The ambient conditions do not comply with the specification.

Residual risks

This instrument has been manufactured in accordance with the state of the art.
Nevertheless, a residual risk cannot be completely excluded.
Danger! Risk of electrical shock!
The instrument produces electric voltages of up to 50 kV.
Caution! Danger of poisoning!
The ray exit window of the X-ray tube and the detector window contain
beryllium. Vapors or dust of beryllium and its compounds are toxic and
hazardous to your health when inhaled.

Shut down the instrument immediately if damaged.
Therefore never touch these windows.
Should you have broken the beryllium window of the detector,
immediately seal off the measurement window of the instrument with
adhesive tape. This ensures that no broken beryllium window pieces
can leave the instrument. Switch off the instrument and inform the
service department of SPECTRO. The detector can no longer be used.
