3) For FM and DAB reception, connect
a corresponding antenna to the jack
FM ANTENNA. If the reception con-
ditions are good, the wire antenna
supplied (  fig. 1) may be used.
4) The line output or headphone output
of an audio player (e. g. CD player or
MP3 player) can be connected to
the 3.5 mm jack AUX INPUT.
5) Integrate the unit into a local net-
work that is connected to the Inter-
net via a router. For cable connec-
tion to the local network, use the
jack LAN. For wireless connection,
screw the wireless LAN antenna
supplied onto the connection WLAN
 
ANTENNA (

antenna into a vertical position.
6) The unit is equipped with an RS-
232 interface for remote control.
For remote control of the unit via
this interface, e. g. from a computer
(   chapter 6), connect the D-Sub
jack "RS-232" to the RS-232 inter-
face of the computer (if there is no
RS-232 interface on the computer,
use an adapter "USB to R S-232") .
7) For power supply, use the mains
cable supplied to connect the mains
jack "230 V~ / 50 Hz" to a mains
socket. As an alternative or as a
precaution against power failure,
operate the unit with a DC voltage
of 15 V via the screw terminals
"15 V ⎓ " (always observe the po-
larity when connecting!).

3.2 IR remote control

The remote control is operated with
a 3 V button cell (type CR 2025). If a
battery is already inserted in the re-
mote control, remove the insulating
film (to protect the battery from being
discharged) from the battery holder.
The remote control is now ready for
operation. When you press a button
on the remote control, always point
the remote control at the IR sensor
(  fig. 2). Make sure that there are no
obstacles between the sensor and the
remote control.
If the remote control is not used for a
longer time, remove the battery as a
precaution so that the remote control
will not be damaged in case the bat-
tery should leak.
3.2.1 Function overview
Most of the functions are available
via the remote control. They are not
always additionally described in the
following chapters and are therefore
listed in the following overview:
