Check that the pH, the total alkalinity TA and the water
hardness are correct; if not, act according to the recom-
mendations in the related paragraphs.
CAUTION
Before proceeding with the addition of disin-
fectant always check, and if necessary correct,
the pH value.
Add 5 ÷10 mg/l of chlorine in quick dissolving gran-
ules to the water in the spa.
CAUTION
Do not use the skimmer basket to introduce
chemical additives. If solid additives are used,
you are advised to dissolve them beforehand
in a bucket or use a purposely-designed bas-
ket available from specialist distributors. The
Manufacturers specific instructions and rec-
ommendations must be carefully followed for
use of the above substances.
Set the filtering cycle (see the section "Filtering system
control") and let it operate until the level of residual chlorine
in the water drops to normal levels (1÷3 mg/l). This normally
occurs after a few hours; however, we recommend leaving the
filtering system in operation for at least half a day).
CAUTION
Do NOT use the spa until the level of free chlo-
rine has dropped to normal levels (1÷3 mg/l).
Do not use the thermal cover during super-
chlorination as the chlorine can attack the
metal parts (chrome-plated accessories etc.).
Other values of chlorine or bromine (> 10 mg/l)
may not be detected by the test kit reactants,
while there is actually an excessive amount pres-
ent. If disinfectants have been added in amounts
over 10 mg/l, the operator must forbid, as his re-
sponsibility, the use of the MaxiJacuzzi
The dosage and method of use require qualified
personnel.
Normal chlorination (or regular maintenance)
To ensure quality and avoid possible deterioration, the wa-
ter must be treated, or chemically conditioned.
The water level must be kept constant to guarantee correct
system operation.
Add the slow dissolving stabilised chlorine to the
water of the spa.
CAUTION
Do not use the skimmer basket to introduce
chemical additives. If solid additives are used,
you are advised to dissolve them beforehand
in a bucket or use a purposely-designed bas-
ket available from specialist distributors.
The Manufacturers specific instructions and
recommendations must be carefully followed
for use of the above substances.
When chlorine is added to the water, part of it is wasted on
contact with impurities, a part (combined chlorine) blends
with nitrogenated substances forming chloramines and an-
other part remains available for disinfection: this is the so-
called free chlorine, which should be present in the amount
of 1÷3 mg/l.
NOTE: if the chloramines level (combined chlorine with ni-
trogenated organic substances) becomes high, it can cause
the so-called "chlorine smell", and also irritating effects for the
eyes and skin. In this case, it is advisable to carry out super-
chlorination (shock treatment).
Check that the pH, the total alkalinity TA and the water
hardness are correct; if not, act according to the recom-
mendations in the related paragraphs.
CAUTION
Before proceeding with the addition of disin-
fectant always check, and if necessary correct,
the pH value.
Check and as necessary modify the water filtering cycles
based on how you intend to use the MaxiJacuzzi
Do not let the free chlorine level drop to below the
recommended value (1÷3 mg/l).

ment additives and therefore also reduces costs.
Chlorine treatment of the water is preferable when the

OTHER TREATMENTS CONCERNING WATER MAIN-
TENANCE
Anti-algae treatment
To be carried out at the beginning of each season (and pe-
riodically) using a specific product;
service centre or a specialized dealer for the relative amounts
and methods of use.
Flocculation treatment
This treatment is necessary to eliminate any microscopic par-
ticles that could make the water cloudy; a treatment that is,
however, not recommended for MaxiJacuzzis, as the sub-
stances used could be deposited on the filtering cartridge
jeopardizing operation.
