'he three-axis measuring machine installation (Figure 2-38) includes the 10705A Single Beam
nterferometer and the 10704A Retroreflector. These measurement components were
:hosen to eliminate any loss of travel because of limited space considerations. It was deter-
nined that the optimum installation position for the 5501A Laser Transducer head was at the
op of the machine to minimize the optical path lengths.
