13. Inspect the refractory target wall for defects such as large cracks or damaged areas. Replace if necessary. Removal of the existing
target wall will require breaking it into several pieces in order to release the retaining pin and clips. Before attempting the removal, wet the
target wall with water to minimize the amount of air born particles. Refer to the safety precautions section of this manual, beginning on
page 5, before proceeding. To avoid damaging the replacement target wall, install it only after you have completed the cleaning of the heat
exchanger surface.
