8. Drag-and-drop the selection to the NS8011 BACnet Driver node.
A link node is created under the driver node.
NK8237 firmware download
Downloading a firmware update
1. Select the Download tab of the NS8011 Driver node.
2. In the Firmware list, select the version you want to download.
Note: You can add or remove versions in the Firmware list by selecting them
and clicking the Add or Remove buttons.
3. Select the NK8237 in the list in the upper part of the form.
Note: To select multiple NK8237, keep the CTRL key pressed while you make
your selections.
4. Click the Download Firmware button.
The download procedure starts.
5. To ensure that the download has completed successfully, verify that the FW
Downloaded check box contains an X.
After the download, the NK8237 unit stops and then reboots. The restart phase
is monitored by the Composer tool.
Downloading the configuration file from the NS8011 driver node
1. Select the Download tab of the NS8011 Driver node.
2. Select one or more NK8237 units in the list in the upper part of the form.
Note: To select multiple units, keep the CTRL key pressed while you make
your selections.
3. Click the Download Configuration button.
4. To ensure that download completed successfully, verify that the Cfg
Downloaded check box contains X. The check box is automatically deselected
after any subsequent modification to remind you that another download is
required.
After the download, the NK8237 unit stops and then reboots. The restart phase
is monitored by the Composer tool.
Controlling and checking the unit status
The Tools tab of the NK823x unit provides some control commands and a screen
status report of the unit. It allows for:
Commanding a remote reset of the unit (that will disconnect the unit for about

one minute).
Setting date & time in the unit.

Executing ping and traceroute commands.
⚫
Reading a complete status report, which includes:

Hardware version (for example, NKM8001-A2)

Firmware version (available on the PC and actually installed on the unit)

Product Identifier (ID): NK8237
–
Delivery Date & Time
–
Add-on information: list of installed add-on components
–
Hardware configuration: 2 serial ports
