17 PCIe 3.0 slots:
● One slot dedicated for a screw-in RAID controller
card, four for mezzanine cards, and 12 for PCIe
SSDs.

● The four mezzanine cards connect the compute
node to switch or pass-through modules through
the midplane.
– Upper cards (Mezz1 and Mezz3): connect to the
I/O modules in slots 2X and 3X in the rear of the
E9000 chassis.
– Lower cards (Mezz2 and Mezz4): connect to the
I/O modules in slots 1E and 4E in the rear of the
E9000 chassis.
– CPU 1 directs two PCIe 3.0 x16 signals to
mezzanine cards 1 and 2. CPU 2 directs two PCIe
3.0 x16 signals to mezzanine cards 3 and 4.
