SECTION 3 – EDIT / LOAD CUSTOM PRESETS FROM A COMPUTER
 Sending a preset, or preset dumps from the PC to the DEC using Fender

Preset Editor

To send a preset from the PC, make sure that the selected MIDI ports in the drop down lists are the ones
that are actually connected to the DEC (see figure 26). You can load previously saved single presets or
preset dumps using the file menu. If you have a preset dump loaded, the "Send All Presets" button will no
longer be grayed out. Pushing the "Send Single Preset" will always send the currently selected preset, and
the DEC will offer to save the preset to the number displayed in the Preset Number box.

If a preset dump is loaded, pressing the "Send All Presets" will load and replace, with no undo, every
preset in the DEC. If there are no valid external MIDI ports, none will show up in the drop down lists,
and the Send Preset buttons will be disabled.
 Sending a preset from the PC to the DEC using another application
Please be sure that you backup all of your presets before you try the next two steps. Transferring a preset
from the PC to the DEC is very simple. In the MIDI-OX "Sysex view and scratchpad" window, select
"File / Send Sysex File". You will be prompted for the name of a preset file. Choose a file with a single
preset in it. This would be a function created by the DUMP PRST function. Then press the OPEN button
in MIDI-OX. A progress bar will appear and show your preset being loaded to the DEC. When complete,
the DEC will ask you to select a user storage position in which to store the preset. Rotate the large preset
selection knob to select which preset location to store the newly loaded preset. Then press the DEC SAVE
button.
 Sending all of the DEC presets from the PC to the DEC using another
application
The procedure for sending all of the DEC presets from the PC to the DEC is similar to the above step. In
the MIDI-OX "Sysex view and scratchpad "window select "File / Send Sysex File". You will be prompted
for the name of a preset file. Choose a file that was created using the DUMP ALL function, then press the
OPEN button in MIDI-OX. A progress bar will appear and show your presets being loaded to the DEC.
The DEC LCD will show a "LOADING PRESETS" message. Once the loading is finished the DEC will
return to normal mode.
