Sentriant Installation Guide
The type of Ethernet management port located on the front of the
Extreme Networks Sentriant system.
A multi-pair (usually 4 pair) high-performance cable that consists of
twisted pair conductors, used mainly for data transmission.
(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) — A protocol for assigning
dynamic IP addresses to devices on a network. With dynamic
addressing, a device can have a different IP address every time it
connects to the network.
(Domain Name System) — An Internet service that translates domain
names into IP addresses.
Transmitting and receiving data simultaneously.
One billion bits (1,073,741,824 bits).
(Hypertext Transfer Protocol) — The communications protocol used to
connect to servers on the World Wide Web. Its primary function is to
establish a connection with a Web server, and transmit HTML pages
to the client browser.
An eight-wire connector used commonly to connect computers onto a
LAN.
A unit of measurement of the height of a rack-mounted device. One
rack unit, or RU, is 1.75 inches (4.46 cm).
