    BLIND COMPONENTS Before you dive right in, please take a moment to get familiar with the names of the various parts inside your blinds.   • Page 7: Step 1 Remove The Blinds

    STEP REMOVE THE BLINDS Carefully remove any valances or decorative covers from the top-front of each blind to be motorized. Manually tilt the blinds to the fully open position. Then raise the blinds all the way up. If your blind has a tilt wand, remove it now. Tilt Wand Removal...

  • Page 10: Step 2 - Prepare For Motor Installation

    Remove the headrail adaptors included in the packaging and make certain that at least one pair fits properly in the headrail – not too loose or too tight. If the fit isn’t right, please contact Somfy at...
  • Page 11 If present, remove the C-Clip or retaining device from the tilt rod. Disengage the tilt rod by sliding it out and away from the tilt mechanism. Pliers may be needed for this step. NOTE: If you have a wand tilt mechanism, gently twist and remove it from the headrail. Pliers may be needed for this step.
  • Page 12 Skip steps if your tilt mechanism uses a wand. NOTE To remove the tilt cords: Use scissors to snip the knot at the end of the cord, beneath the tassel. Cut as close to the knot as possible. Then pull the cord up and through to remove the tassel. Be certain you are cutting the TILT CORDS and NOT the LIFT CORDS.

  • Page 14 At this point, you will need to determine if there is enough room to install the motor on the end IMPORTANT of the headrail, or if it needs to be installed in the center. If the distance between the end of the headrail to the edge of the tilt tumbler is 5 inches (127mm) or more, follow the instructions for an end-mount installation (Step 3).

  • Page 15: Step 3 - End-Mount Installation

    STEP END-MOUNT INSTALLATION Skip this step if performing a center-mount installation. NOTE Headrail edges may be sharp, so take care when working with it. CAUTION Carefully slide the motor into the headrail from one end. Then slide the tilt rod into the tilt rod adaptor. If the tilt rod doesn’t NOTE: extend through the motor, reverse it.

  • Page 16: Step 4 - Center-Mount Installation

    STEP CENTER-MOUNT INSTALLATION Skip this step if performing an end-mount installation. NOTE Headrail edges may be sharp, so take care when working with it. CAUTION Carefully slide the tilt rod out of one tilt tumbler to expose center of the headrail and to make room for insertion of the motor. Carefully position the motor in the headrail between the two tilt tumblers.
  • Page 17 Insert the tilt rod into the motor housing. Make certain the tilt rod is inserted through the motor rod adaptor, and tilt tumbler. Make sure both (or all) tilt tumblers are oriented in the same position at this step to ensure even tilting and to prevent damage. NOTE: If previously removed, re-install the C-Clip or retaining device to the tilt rod.

  • Page 18: Step 5 Finishing Up

    Do not disconnect the battery or power supply while the motor is operating. The motor’s power-supply IMPORTANT cable cannot be removed or replaced. If it is damaged, please contact Somfy. Rehang the blind by sliding it back into the open brackets, then snap both brackets closed. Replace any valance or decorative covering, if used.

  • Page 19: Step 6 - Remote Control Setup

    STEP SETUP OF HAND-HELD REMOTE CONTROL The following instructions are for the setup and operation of a Somfy control device. If another control IMPORTANT device is to be used, follow the instructions provided with that control device. BEFORE YOU BEGIN Press any button on the remote to ensure that the LED indicator on the front of the remote illuminates.
  • Page 20 PROGRAM THE REMOTE On each of the following steps, be sure to read the entire step before performing it. IMPORTANT The remote control has three buttons: UP , DOWN , and “MY” . To program the remote, press the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously.
  • Page 21 Press and hold the UP button until the blind slats tilt up to the desired closed position. SET THE UPPER LIMIT (STOP POINT): Be sure not to over-rotate at this step; the motor should not strain to reach the limit/stop point position. Now press the IMPORTANT: MY and DOWN buttons simultaneously;...

  • Page 23 BASIC OPERATION Briefly press the UP button to tilt the blinds up and briefly press the DOWN button to tilt the blinds down. Press the MY button at any time to stop the blinds. Press and hold the UP button to tilt the blinds up.

  • Page 25 PROGRAM A FAVORITE (MY) POSITION 6j. Completing programming is required (see step 6f) before proceeding. Set the blinds to the position you will want them in most of the time. Press and hold the MY button until the blind slats briefly tilt up and down. The MY setting is now programmed. The blind will return to this position whenever you press MY in the future.

    ÉTAPE DÉPOSE DU STORE 1a. Déposez avec soin toute cantonnière ou toute décoration de fenêtre au-dessus du store à être motorisé. 1b. Inclinez les lattes du store à leur position d’ouverture maximale et montez le store jusqu’en haut. Si votre store a une baguette rotative pour incliner les lattes, déposez-la maintenant.

    PRÉPARATION POUR L’INSTALLATION DU MOTEUR IMPORTANT Avant d’installer un moteur Clever, il sera important de vous assurer que les adaptateurs s’ajustent fermement dans le rail de suspension. Sortir les adaptateurs de rail du sachet compris dans l’emballage et s’assurer d’en sélectionner une paire s’ajustant bien dans le rail sans être trop lâches ni trop serrés.

Une paire de pinces pourrait être nécessaire pour cette étape.

Pour déposer le cordon pour inclinaison : À l’aide d’une paire de ciseaux, coupez les extrémités du cordon avec nœud sous les glands de manipulation. Coupez le plus près du nœud qu’il sera possible puis déposez les glands. Assurez-vous de couper le CORDON REMARQUE : D’INCLINAISON et NON le CORDON D’ÉLÉVATION du store.

Fixez les deux adaptateurs rail/moteur sur le moteur (la paire mise de côté à l’étape 2a). Passez les fils d’alimentation du moteur dans l’interstice de l’adaptateur.

    ÉTAPE MONTAGE EN EXTRÉMITÉ DU STORE Étape à omettre pour les applications à montage en REMARQUE partie intermédiaire du store. Les rebords du rail de suspension pourraient être acérés, donc, soyez prudents durant l’installation. ATTENTION 3a. À partir d’une extrémité, insérez délicatement le moteur dans le rail de suspension. Insérez ensuite la tige rotative pour inclinaison dans l’adaptateur de tige.

    ÉTAPE MONTAGE EN PARTIE INTERMÉDIAIRE DU STORE Étape à omettre pour les applications à REMARQUE montage en extrémité du store. Les rebords du rail de suspension pourraient être acérés, donc, soyez prudents durant l’installation. ATTENTION 4a. Glissez délicatement la tige d’inclinaison hors du tambour pour exposer la partie intermédiaire du rail laissant un espace pour insérer le moteur. 4b.
  • Page 41 4c. Insérez la tige d’inclinaison dans le bâti du moteur. Assurez-vous que la tige d’inclinaison traverse l’adaptateur de moteur et le tambour d’inclinaison. Assurez-vous que les deux (ou tous) les tambours sont en même position de pivotement pour assurer une inclinaison REMARQUE : égale en tout point des lattes et prévenir leur endommagement.

    Avant de passer à l’étape de programmation de la télécommande (étape 6), cantonnière ou toute décoration de fenêtre retirée. REMARQUE : abaissez le store manuellement.     ÉTAPE CONFIGURATION DE LA MANETTE DE COMMANDE IMPORTANT Les instructions ci-dessous sont pour la configuration et le fonctionnement d’un dispositif de commande Somfy. Si un autre dispositif de commande est utilisé, suivre les instructions fournies avec celui-ci.
