Load Leg

The load leg is stored under
the base.
feature.
The base install is equally safe
with or without the use of the
load leg.
In a crash, load legs reduce
downward rotation, limit
rebound, provide additional
stability, and energy absorption.
• Fold the load leg out.
• Squeeze the buttons on the
load leg and pull it down until
it meets the vehicle floor.
• Release the buttons.
• Lift the front of the base while
holding the load leg in place
to lock it into position.
• It must be perpendicular to
the vehicle floor.
Do not use the load leg on top of vehicle
storage compartments. Review your vehicle
owner's manual. Do not use the load leg if it
does not reach the fl oor of your vehicle. When
not in use, the load leg must be stored under

the base.

Release Lever for
Vehicle Belt Lockoff &
LATCH: Lower Anchor Belts
This base has a release lever
that has two functions; one
for LATCH: Lower Anchor and
one for vehicle belts.
Lockoffs prevent the vehicle
belt from loosening after
tightening.
Opening Release Lever
Lift release lever to open
Lockoff and release LATCH:
Lower Anchor belts.
Closing Release Lever
Push down on lever to close
Lockoff and to allow the
LATCH: Lower Anchor belts to
retract.
