Write-Protecting a Memory Card

SD memory cards feature a write-protection tab. When write protection is
enabled (see the right figure below) you will only be able to view any existing
pictures, but not delete or edit them. Also, it will not be possible to record any
new pictures onto the memory card.
Write protection disabled
If you attempt to take a picture while write protection is enabled,
when pressing the shutter button [4] the message Card locked
will appear on the display [10], and a multiple sound can be
heard.

Switching the Camera On and Off

Press the On/Off button [1] to switch the camera on in capture mode. Or
press the Playback mode button [8] to switch the camera on in playback
mode.
Press the On/Off button [1] to switch the camera off.

Power-Saving Function

This camera is equipped with an automatic power-saving function to extend
the rechargeable battery life. By default, the LCD screen [10] powers off after
one minute if the camera is not being used. Use a finger to tap on the display
or press the shutter halfway down to switch the LCD display back on.
You can alter the preset timeout for the energy-saving function. To do this,
