Why do I get E5 error “clothing is interfering” sometimes when my arm is bare?

If the E5 error indicates "clothing is interfering" but the arm is bare, it may be a misinterpretation of the actual cause. E5 typically means the pulse rate is not detected correctly. This can happen due to improper cuff placement, excessive movement, or poor contact with the skin, even if no clothing is present. Ensure the cuff is wrapped correctly and snugly around the bare arm, and stay still during measurement.

How many times should I take my B.P. to get the most accurate reading? I have heard that it is necessary to take it twice (after “resting”a few minutes between takes. Have also heard that 3 times is even more accurate. I’m sorry, but I could not find the answer to that question in the manual.

Contents Thank you for purchasing the OMRON ® BP761N Blood Pressure Monitor. Your new blood pressure monitor uses the oscillometric method of blood pressure measurement. This means the monitor detects your blood movement through your brachial artery and converts the movements into a digital reading. An oscillometric monitor does not need a stethoscope so the monitor is simple to use.
