5.7.2 MS-920 Solution
A MS-920 Master Station may be interfaced directly to the mic port of the remote head or
through the IM-900 Master Station. This allows any standard 900 Series radio transmit headset
to be used interchangeably at the remote head or with the intercom system en-route. The use
of a MS-920 eliminates the need to run a cable from the pump station to the cab. When used
at the pump station, the headset will only be interfaced to the radio, not to the in route intercom
system. Optionally the MS-920 can be configured with two headset ports if a second position is
needed for training purposes or for use in a different application.
5.8 Remote Jump Seat Stations
A number of remote and extension stations are available. Installation considerations for these
are essentially the same. Please refer to Section 4.0 of this manual to find the System Diagram
that most closely represents your system for further details. If you have an unusual
configuration not shown in this manual, a System Diagram prepared for your specific
configuration will have been provided with installation details needed to install your system.
Note the position of a JS-900, JS-901, JS-902, PS-900 and the RSJ-900 stations in
relationship to each other or to the IM-900 Master Station. Since some of these stations are
may be daisy-chained, each must occupy its correct position in the chain for the system to
work properly. The JS-900 series stations are usually located on the ceiling along the
centerline of the vehicle, with the headset connectors facing outboard. When the JS-901/902 is
being installed, consider the cable run to both the IM-900 and the additional remote stations in
the chain. Position stations where they will be easily accessible yet will not interfere with crew
operations. Normally, headset dress should be toward the centerline of the vehicle as shown in
the system diagrams. If your application does not lend itself to two headsets being plugged into
one station, an extension station can be added to remote the second position from the first.
5.9 Weatherproof Exterior Stations
Stations and remote station jacks are intended for exterior locations. For pump panel locations,
position the station on or near the pump panel. Position the station so that the headset cable
will not interfere with pump controls. CSB-900 Headsets come standard with a 15 foot coil cord
so a patch cord or additional extension cable is normally not required. For best service, locate
the station so the cord is fully relaxed in normal operation. This will allow the operator a wide
range of movement around the station and insure the best service life for the coil cord. When a
station is mounted in a watertight enclosure such as the PS-900, TS-900, or JS-900W insure
