the MACB and you will need to modify your microphone. Cut the connector off the hand
microphone and install the supplied connector. A schematic to determine correct pin-outs is
included with the MACB. Plug the hand microphone into the MACB and perform a radio check
using both the hand microphone and headsets.

5.7 Remote Head Installation at the Pump Panel

Due to the great variety of dual head radios and how they are programmed it is not possible
to cover all potential installations in this manual. Detail of how to mount Motorola, MA/COM
and Kenwood radio are available at www.setcomcorp.com. If you have an unusual
configuration not shown in this manual, a System Diagram prepared for your specific
configuration will have been provided with installation details needed to install your system.
One common use of a remote head is at a pump panel location. In some cases you may find
the use of a PS-900 Pump Panel Station eliminates the need for a remote head altogether.
This is especially true when it is not necessary to change frequencies once at the pump
panel. Some dual head radios in which the two control heads are slaved together allow the
use of a standard PS-900. In this case, regardless of which head the intercom system is
interfaced to, the operator at any location will monitor and transmit on the frequency selected
by the active head. For other dual control head radios, such as the Motorola Spectra, it is not
possible to program the radio to allow use of the rear head effectively when the intercom is
interfaced to the front head. In these cases, several options are provided by the System 900

5.7.1 RCC-900 Radio Cable Combiner Solution

For dual head radios that are not slaved together, a RCC-900 Radio Cable Combiner will
automatically interface the active head to the intercom system. This means that all intercom
positions will always be interfaced to the radio through the active head. For dual head radios
with slaved remote heads this component is not required. A standard master station and a
PS-900 Pump Station will work with for a configuration incorporating slaved heads.
See Figure 4.7 for an example system diagram using a RCC-900.
