used in accordance with local Moving &
Handling recommendations. Please retain these
instructions in a safe place for future reference.
1.0 Intended Use
The Atlas 2 Transfer Disc is designed to provide
assistance when completing standing and seat
to seat transfers. It can also be used to
encourage mobility in rehabilitation.
The user must be able to support their own
weight and maintain balance. They must also be
able to grasp the handles and understand basic
instructions.
2.0 Safety Precautions
Do not use the Atlas 2 Transfer Disc as a means
of transporting users.
Do not leave the user unattended when using
the product.
The carer must act as a counterbalance when
the user is rising and lowering. Consideration
should be given to whether the carer's body
weight is sufficient to counterbalance the user's.
Do not exceed the maximum user weight; 30st
(190kg).
3.0 Use
1. Position the user in close proximity to the
surface to which they wish to transfer to,
see figure 2.
2. Position the Atlas 2 as close as possible
to the seated user. The handle bar should
angle away from the user.
3. If necessary, adjust the height of the
handle bar by using the hand wheel and
locating holes on the rear of the upright.
Ensure the hand wheel is correctly located and
secure before commencing the transfer.
