SECTION 7: SERVICE

Review the troubleshooting procedures in this section if a problem develops with your machine. If you need
replacement parts or additional help with a procedure, call our Technical Support. Note: Please gather the
serial number and manufacture date of your machine before calling.
Symptom

Troubleshooting

Possible Solution
1. If necessary, replace/reset fuse/breaker.
2. Inspect/repair cord, plug, and motor for damaged
insulation, shorted wires, or loose connections.
3. Connect to correctly-sized circuit (Page 9).
1. Reduce workpiece pressure on sanding surface.
2. Repair cause of short. Replace/reset fuse/breaker.
3. Install correct fuses or circuit breakers.
1. Properly place machine on level surface.
2. Adjust sanding belt tracking (Page 18).
3. Replace spring.
4. Replace sanding belt.
1. Square table relative to sanding belt (Page 17).
1. Clean/replace sanding surface.
2. Use a finer grit sanding surface.
3. Sand with the grain.
4. Reduce pressure on workpiece while sanding.
5. Keep workpiece moving across sanding surface.
1. Store sanding materials away from heat or damp
conditions; store flat, not folded or bent.
2. Replace sanding material.
1. Reduce pressure on workpiece while sanding.
2. Use different stock; change/clean sanding material
often.
1. Use a coarser grit sanding belt.
2. Reduce pressure on workpiece while sanding.
3. Do not keep workpiece in one place for too long.
1. Dry stock proper before sanding.

often.
