Disable the auto-shutoff option
The meter is set to automatically power off after 5 minutes of inactivity to
maximize the battery life. This option can be temporarily disabled.

Clean the instrument

Never use cleaning agents such as turpentine, acetone or similar products to clean

Clean the exterior of the instrument with a moist cloth and a mild soap

To avoid potential damage to the meter from battery leakage, remove the meter
batteries prior to extended periods of non-use.
Replace the batteries

Explosion hazard. Incorrect battery installation can cause the release of explosive
gases. Be sure that the batteries are of the same approved chemical type and are
inserted in the correct orientation. Do not mix new and used batteries.
N O T I C E
Make sure that all meter connectors stay dry. Use a dry towel to remove liquid from
the connectors.

Figure
1. Pull the release tab on the battery cover and the remove the cover.
2. Remove the batteries.
3. Install 3 AA alkaline or 3 AA nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries.
Make sure that the batteries are installed in the correct polarity.
4. Replace the battery cover.
