OPERATION
Make sure to carry out the procedures for "Initial Use" when you use the unit for the fi rst time, or after replacing
the cartridge(s).
Initial Use
P R O C E D U R E

Make sure that the usage start year/month/day
is fi lled on the label for each cartridge. If not,
fi ll the usage start year/month/day on the label.
For handling of front cover, see "Replacement
of Filter Cartridges" on page E-6.

Select "PURIFIED" with
the diverter valve.

Select "FILTER CLEANING"
with the mode select lever of
the unit. Open the tap, and run
the water through the
unit. Keep the water fl ow from
the diverter valve for about
15 minutes. The water will be
drained through the drain tube.

After 15 minutes, close the
tap and change the mode
select lever to "PURIFIED".
Open the tap, and run the
water through the unit for 5
minutes.

Check that the both of unit and the diverter
valve have no water leakage. If water leakage
occurs, check the trouble shooting chart on
page E-8. If there is any damage, contact
your nearest SERVICE CENTRE APPROVED
BY SHARP.
NOTE:
At the first use, foamed water may be observed.
The foam is due to air in the fi lter cartridges and it is
normal. It is also harmless to your health.
TIPS:
When you connect the tubes correctly, water will fl ow from where indicated in the chart below.

Open the tap, and run the water through the
unit.

diverter valve.

Open the tap, and run the water (the water
does not fl ow through the unit.)

* If the purifi ed water fl ows
at the same time, the tubes
connection are in the wrong
position. Check the tube
installation. See page E-4.
