6.3 Connecting the external fan
Connection
The external fan is connected in the fan terminal box. Connect the power supply in the fan
terminal box, as shown in the figure below.

In the delivery condition, the cable entry is sealed with a plug.
Note
Cable gland
The general connection instructions for the cable glands must be observed. The continuous
sealing of the cable gland toward the terminal box and the cable must be ensured.
NOTICE
Damage to the machine due to a short circuit
Water that accumulates at the cable glands can result in a short circuit, which can cause
consequential damage to the machine.
• Make sure that the cable outlet does not face upward.
NOTICE
Incorrect direction of rotation
The external fan can be rotated in only one direction. Operation with the wrong direction of
rotation can destroy the motor.
• If necessary, change the direction of rotation by interchanging any two conductors of the

Terminal box of the external fan
Cable entries for line power connection on both sides of the fan terminal box housing
three phase conductors (U, V, and W) in the terminal box. You can find the arrow
indicating direction of rotation on the fan rating plate.
