    Basic operating instructions Opening the door Open the door. Fill the drum Sort the linen according to the quality and the allowed wash temperature. Empty all pockets of the garments completely so that the garments or the machine cannot be damaged during the wash cycle. Turn sleeves of shirts, blouses, ... inside out.

    Add detergent It is recommended to only use detergents with a “foam-breaker”. The recommended doses are mentioned on the detergent packing. Overdosing of detergents can lead to reduced wash results and "overfoaming", which can damage the machine. In accordance with the program, the soap symbols light up to inform where soap needs to be added in the soapbox.

    Indications of program sequence Label 3 Label 2 - (A) There is a symbol for each program segment or wash cycle. The wash cycles of the chosen program are always visible. The current wash cycle is blinking. (see Label 2) - (B) The program number is alternately shown with the water temperature.
  • Page 20 - (H) When water is drained through the valve or the pump, the drain symbol appears. - (I + J) When, at the end of a program segment, the water is draining and the machine is spinning, the wash cycle symbol and the spin symbol are blinking.

    End of the program At the end of the program, the door is unlocked and " ", " " and the symbol to open the door (A) appear on the display as long as the door is closed. Premature end of the program By pressing the start-stop button ( ) during the program, the wash cycle symbols on top disappear and the water will be drained.

    Power failure If there would be a power failure during the program, the water will be drained and the door can be opened after 3 minutes approximately. When the door stays closed and there is power again within 24 hours, the program will continue from the phase when the power failure happened.

    Information menu During the program, the current speed, the actual water level and the measured temperature can be displayed. Functioning During the program, at the moment that one wants to see this information, press the upper key (A) and keep it pressed. Subsequently, press the 2nd key (B) at the same time and release it again.

    Change spin speed With this function, one can limit the highest spin speed (most of all final spin) to prevent damage to the linen. Functioning Select a program. Afterwards, press the key (H) to change the spin speed. The highest spin speed (F) is blinking on the display and the corresponding symbol (E) for this setting appears on the display.

    Function menu (adjusted beforehand) The function menu contains four program settings that can be adjusted beforehand. The following settings can be activated here: - predefined start - soak - to wash with a reduced wash movement - abso wash / load-dependent wash Functioning Press the F-key (E) to enter the function menu.

    Predefined start Functioning Select the wash program with the up- (A) and down (B)-key. Press the F-key (E) to activate the ‘predefined start’ function. Press enter (C) to confirm and then introduce the desired starting hour of the selected program with the up- and down-key. Press enter and then select the number of minutes of the predefined start with the up- and down-key.

    Soak The first wash cycle changes as follows: - the bath is filled until a high water level and at max. 40°C (adjustable). - once the bath is at temperature, the drum makes a left-right movement every 4 minutes. If the temperature would go down again, there will be heated up again with the reduced wash movement.

    Abso wash / Load-dependent wash Here, the water level and soap quantity are adapted in accordance with the size of the load. One can only set this function when load-dependent wash has been activated in the selected program (see Cygnus Assist: Abso wash/weight dependable). There are 2 possibilities to adapt wash programs automatically in order to save water, soap, time and energy: - Water absorption: adapting the water level and/or soap quantity dependent on the measured water absorption of the load.

Only for the wash programs, in which the ‘abso wash’ function has been programmed, the sponge-symbol will appear on the display. (see Label 5) Subsequently, one can: - activate the 'abso wash' function: Press the function-key (E) and then select ‘abso wash' with the up- and down- key.

    Manual interventions during the program During the wash cycle, the following functions can be executed: - advance - economy wash - hold-function (see p. 31) Advance With this function, one can skip certain steps of the chosen program. This function must be activated in the Cygnus Assist (Machine setup - User configuration) or in the settings on the machine.

    Hold Here, one can add extra wash time in a program segment. The temperature, water level and wash action times remain the same as programmed. Functioning During the program, press the F-key (E) to activate this function. The hold-symbol (F) appears on the display to let you know that this function has been activated.
