You can program the Side key (8), by using the dedicated PC software.

Programmable Side Key

Description
Enable / disable DTMF Function
The radio will un-mute only when it receives a carrier signal.
The radio will un-mute no matter there is a carrier signal or not.
Check the current Squelch Level.
Adjust the current Squelch Level quickly.
Automatic channel scanning.
Scan the Priority Channel before other channels.
Delete the noise channel from the current scan group
temporarily.
Delete the noise channel from the current scan group.
The Rx frequency will be used in place of the Tx frequency
during transmission.
Reverse the transmitting frequency and receiving frequency for
Repeater function.
Check the transmitting power level on the current channel.
Enable / disable VOX function.
To know the current battery capacity.
When you turn the Channel Selector Knob, the radio will report
the current channel position.
For access to Repeaters
To lock the current channel position, and the Channel Knob is
invalid.
You can speak quietly into the Microphone, and other users
still can hear clearly.
Single Call and Group Call.
The alarm mode can be programmed via Software.
