Problem
The handset or base unit does
not ring.
I cannot make local calls with
the handset or base unit using
a cellular line.
I cannot make or answer
cellular calls with the handset
or base unit.
I can make and answer cellular
calls but cannot hear a sound.
I cannot switch cellular calls
from the unit to the cellular
phone.
I cannot make a call using a
landline.
I cannot use a cellular line.
The handset or base unit does
not ring the cellular phone's
ringer tone even the ring as cell
mode is turned on.
I cannot answer an incoming
call using the voice command.
I cannot make long distance
calls.
I cannot use voice paging.

Cause/solution
R The ringer volume for landline is turned off. Adjust the
ringer volume (page 26, 32, 53, 57).
R The ringer volume for cellular line is turned off. Adjust the
ringer volume (page 26, 32, 51, 57).
R The unit which is not selected to ring for cellular calls
does not ring. To change the selection, see page 21.
R Silent mode is turned on. Turn it off (page 60).
R The ringer volume is turned off by pressing and holding
0 ( ). Press and hold 0 (
(page 26).
R You need to add your area code when making cellular
calls. Store your area code in order to automatically add it
to the beginning of the 7-digit phone number when
making cellular calls (page 23).
R Depending on the cellular phone's compatibility (page 6),
you may not be able to make or answer cellular calls even
if the cellular phone is connected to the base unit.
R Make sure that the CELL indicator lights up and the
cellular phone is connected to the base unit (page 22).
R Only 1 Bluetooth device can be used with the unit at a
time.
R The cellular phone is being used separately from your
system.
R The Bluetooth technology on your cellular phone may not
be functioning normally. Turn off and on your cellular
phone.
R Disconnect and reconnect the base unit AC adaptor and
try again.
R Your cellular phone may not support this feature. Refer to
the operating instructions of your cellular phone.
R The dialing mode may be set incorrectly. Change the
setting (page 18).
R The unit cannot be used to talk on 2 cellular lines at the
same time. Try again later.
R The units use the preset ringer tones (CELL 1: Tone 2,
CELL 2: Tone 4) when receive calls if answer by
voice command feature is turned on. To change the
setting, see page 55.
R The answer by voice command feature is turned off.
To turn it on, see page 55.
R Baby monitor is set to "On". Turn off the baby monitor
feature.
R Make sure that you have long distance service.
R You cannot use voice paging if other units are in use.
