Introduction The PWS1005W power supply provides up to 1000 watts of precision power to a 12, 24, 32, 36, 48, or 72 (Rail) VDC electrical system from a 110 or 220 VAC source. Designed for service in the most unforgiving environments, the PWS1005W has an operational temperature range spanning -40°C to +55°C.
Main Parts Front Panel Power Switch DC Output Connection: 8AWG TEW-type stranded wire, AC Input Connection: 3.05m bare copper leads (Positive: Red and /10.00ft P3x14AWG power cord Negative: Black) encased in a sealcon ending in a NEMA 5-15;125VAC gland plug encased in a sealcon gland LED Operational Indicators Input Fuse: MDA 25 Amp...
Operation This unit is designed for simple operation. Before operating the unit, it must be properly installed and connected to the power source and load. See Installation for more details. TO TURN THE UNIT ON: Move the Power Switch to the ON position. The alarm buzzer will sound briefly and the POWER LED will begin glowing green indicating the power supply is supplying the load.

1 inch (2.54 cm) of clearance surrounding the unit for adequate cooling. The PWS1005W is designed to meet IP66 rating, and is resistant to water spray from any direction. These units can be mounted in wet locations but are not suitable for submersion.
Output Fuse Replacement The power supply is protected from damage by reverse polarity connection by output fuses. If the load is connected to the unit in the wrong polarity, the output fuse(s) will blow to protect the power supply. Afterwards, the fuses must be replaced for normal unit operation. See the specifications section for rating and make fuses.
Troubleshooting This unit is fitted with 5 LED indicators and an alarm buzzer to display and diagnose any malfunctions. In the event of a malfunction, the unit will sound the buzzer to alert you before shutting itself down. You should then immediately check which LEDs are glowing to determine the cause of the alarm.

Battery Backup Option The Battery Backup Option allows you to connect a battery to the output of your unit to serve as a backup power source in the event of power failure. The Battery Backup circuit is designed so the diodes are reversed biased in normal operation and forward biased in event of power failure.

Load Sharing Option The Load Sharing Option allows you to connect two or more units in parallel, allowing them to share in supplying current to the load(s). Connecting units together this way has many advantages, it reduces stress on each individual power supply and in addition, the load can draw greater current than from a single unit.
