Turning the power on and off
Press [z/ON] to turn the power on.
(After connecting the power cord, when you press [z/ON] for the
first time, the volume-reset feature automatically sets the initial
volume level.)
When the power cord is connected to the AC outlet, the unit will
respond to commands from the remote control.
To turn the power off, press [z/ON] again.
Selecting the source
Press [VCR] to select the "VCR" function.
Press [DVD] to select the "DVD" function.
Press [AM/FM] to select the "Tuner" function.
Press [INPUT] repeatedly to select the external source connected
to AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks on the front panel or original source.

When the source selection is changed to the "Tuner" function,
disc and tape playback automatically stops.

Adjusting the volume
Rotate [VOLUME] (or press [VOLUME] + or – on the remote
control). The volume level appears on the display (Vol 0 ~ Vol
40).
Adjusting the bass, treble and speaker level
1. Press [SOUND] then press [ENTER] repeatedly to select the
desired sound mode.
Each time [ENTER] is pressed, the sound mode changes as
follows:
BA (Bass) v TR (Treble) v FL (Front left speaker) v C
(Center speaker) v FR (Front right speaker) v SR
(Surround right speaker) v SL (Surround left speaker) v
SU (Subwoofer) v BA (Bass)...
2. Press "4" or "5" to adjust the sound level.
Bass/ Treble: "+5"–"–5".
Front left speaker/Front right speaker: "0"–"–10".
Center speaker/Surround left speaker/Surround left speaker/
Subwoofer: "+10"–"–10".
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for another sound mode.

You can also use the menu screen to adjust the speaker
level. See "Adjusting the Speaker and Subwoofer level" on
page E19.
Bass boost system
Press [BASS BOOST] to switch the bass boost effect On and
Off.
