The Layback Settings
Window
Z: Relates to the distance between the water and the cable's tow point.
Click on the <Worksheet> button to open a very easy way to input this information.

The Application window contains a option for enlarging
the waterfall display toolbar buttons for certain on-the-
water conditions.
Click in the check box to significantly enlarge the waterfall
display toolbar buttons; the remainder of the workspace
area will remain the same.
Afterward, use the <Load Application Default Settings>
The Layback window allows the user to set the Layback of the towfish.
This capability gives an estimate of the towfish location in relation to the
boat.
TIP:
The offsets are based on the Cartesian coordinate system
derived from the location of the GPS unit as (0,0).
Bow: -Y
Stern: +Y
X: Relates to the position of the left (port) or right (starboard) side of the
boat.
Y: Relates to the front (bow) or back (stern) of the boat in relation to the
location of the GPS Unit.
Cable Out refers to the amount of cable that has been
released. If a winch shows the amount of line out, use that
number. If not, use the best estimate available.
SONAR Depth refers to the height off the bottom. Use the <Get
Depth From Waterfall> button to determine this better. Simply
click the button and then click the first bottom return.
Click on the <Apply Now> button to add a Layback Event to
the Layback Events window. It will also add a a towfish to the
Plotter window.
