Initial tests

The following are just some of the tests that should be carried out at the Mains Powered DAU:

Mains failure test
Switch off the mains supply to the Mains Powered DAU by removing the mains fuse at the fused spur unit. Check to
ensure appropriate indications are given of mains failure, see page 17. Reinstate the fuse and wait for fault
indication removal.

Battery disconnect test
Take out and disconnect one of the battery connection. Check to ensure appropriate fault indications are given of
battery disconnection, see page 17. Reconnect the battery and wait for fault indication removal.

Speaker circuit wiring tests
Disconnect one of the speaker circuit wire from the terminal block. Check to ensure appropriate indications are
given of speaker circuit fault, see page 17. Reconnect the speaker wire and wait for fault indication removal.
Repeat the test but his time simulate a short circuit on the speaker circuit wiring.

Fault relay
The relay is normally energised with no fault present in the system and becomes energised with the Mains Powered
DAU in a fault condition. To test the fault relay you will need to ensure the Mains Powered DAU is powered up and
the system is clear of fault indications. Introduce a fault and check there is a change over of the relay contacts.
