Water heater shutdown

f Connect the programming unit connecting cable plug to the
PCB.
Note
It is essential to plug the connecting cable from the
programming unit into the PCB before switching on the
power. Otherwise, the programming unit will not func-
tion.
f Hook the water heater cover into the back panel at the top
rear. Pivot the cover downwards. Check that the cover is se-
curely seated at both top and bottom.
f Secure the water heater cover with the screw.
f Remove the protective film from the user interface.
f Switch on the power supply.
f Ensure that the programming unit is functioning correctly.
f Turn the temperature selector fully to its left-hand, and then
right-hand end-stop.
10.3.2 Water heater handover
f Explain the water heater function to users and familiarize
them with how it works.
f Make the user aware of potential dangers, especially the risk
of scalding.
f Hand over the instructions.

10.4 Operation with preheated water

You can limit the maximum inlet temperature by installing a cen-
tral thermostatic valve.
12
| DCE Plus
Use a thermostatic valve for central premixing, for example when
operating an instantaneous water heater with preheated water.
For use in shower operation, the valve must be set to a maximum
of 131 °F (55 °C).

10.5 Recommissioning

Material losses
!
To ensure that the Direct Coil
aged following an interruption to the water supply, the
water heater must be restarted by taking the following
steps.
f Shut off power to the unit at the breaker panel by
making sure that connected circuit breakers are
"OFF" to avoid any danger of electric shock.
f Open and close the tap at least five times for three
minutes total, until the water heater and its up-
stream cold water inlet line are free of air.
f Switch the power back ON at the breaker panel.
11. Water heater shutdown
f Shut off power to the unit at the breaker panel by making
sure that connected circuit breakers are "OFF" to avoid any
danger of electric shock.
f Drain the water heater (see section 15.1, "Draining the water
heater", pg. 16).

12. Alternative installation methods

WARNING Electrocution
Before performing any work on the water heater, dis-
connect all poles from the power supply.
12.1 Concealed installation, electrical connection
from below
1 Cable grommet
f Break out the required aperture in the back panel for the
power cable (for positions, see section 16.1, "Dimensions and
connections", pg. 17). De-burr any sharp edges with a file.
f Cut a hole in the cable grommet to fit the selected connecting
cable. Fit the cable grommet.
f Install the water heater and connect the power cable to the
wiring block as described in section 9.1, "Standard non-con-
cealed installation", pg. 10.
