Mounting Instructions:
1. There needs to be at least 24" between the load bars
(Diagram 1).
2. Place the Kayak Saddle on to the load bars as shown in
Diagram 2. The logo side of the Kayak Saddle should be
facing away from the center of the vehicle, and the kayak
deck should tilt inwards.
3. Attach the bracket using the two wing style knobs
(Diagram 3). Do not tighten.
4. Position the second Kayak Saddle on the load bar so that it
is approximately the same width of the kayak. Do not
tighten.
5. Mount the second set of Kayak Saddles on the other
load bar.
6. Load the kayak and adjust the Saddles so that it fi ts tight
between the Kayak Saddles. Ensure that the kayak is in line
with the vehicle. Note: always ensure that the kayak and
the Kayak Saddles are clean before loading. Any dirt or
sand can cause scratches on the underside of the kayak
when you are loading.
7. Once you are happy with the position of the Kayak Saddle,
tighten the 8 wing nuts. Load the kayak again and make
sure that no part of the kayak contacts the load bars or
the vehicle.
Attaching the Kayak:
1. Run the tie down straps over the kayak and under the
cross bars (Diagram 4). NOTE: Do not run the webbing
straps around the Kayak Saddle. Tighten the straps with
the cam buckle.
2. Ensure the straps are not covering the kayak opening, or
any area that is not load-bearing.
3. Attach the bow and stern straps to a secure point on
the bumper. Check the lines regularly to ensure they are
always tight.
Warnings:
• The load bars must be a minimum of 24" apart and the
kayak must line up with the vehicle.
• Make sure that the load bars or roof rack do not exceed the
manufacturers limitation for load.
• Make sure that the straps are on a load-bearing surface or
damage can occur.
• The rack is designed for sea kayaks and white water kayaks.
It is not designed for aluminum boats.
