Replace the HEGO sensor. Refer to Section 5.7.
Is the replacement complete?
Verify that the HEGO sensor is working properly:
Connect any disconnected components.
Clear DTC information from the ECM.
Turn the ECM power OFF and wait 30 seconds.
Start and run the engine until operating temperature is reached.
Observe engine performance.
Turn the engine off and check for any stored diagnostic codes.
Does the engine operate normally with no stored codes?
Replace the ECM. Refer to Section 5.4.
Is the replacement complete?
Remove all test equipment except Spectrum.
Connect any disconnected components.
Using Spectrum, clear DTC information from the ECM.
Turn the ECM power OFF and wait 30 seconds.
Start the engine and operate to full operating temperature.
Use Spectrum to verify if the DTC code was regenerated.
Observe engine performance.
Does the engine operate normally with no stored codes?
