STARTING AND OPERATING

Engine Stop/Start
The STOP/START system was developed to re-
duce emissions and will turn back ON every
time the ignition is turned OFF and then back
ON again.
STOP/START OFF Switch
The system will stop the engine automatically
during a vehicle stop if the required conditions
are met.
This vehicle has been upgraded with a heavy
duty battery, starter, as well as other engine
parts, to handle the additional engine starts.
Releasing the brake pedal or pressing the ac-
celerator pedal on an automatic transmission
will start the engine.
How do I manually turn off the engine STOP/START
system?
• Press the STOP/START OFF switch (located
on the switch bank). The light on the switch
will illuminate.
How do I manually turn on the engine STOP/START
system?
• Press the STOP/START OFF switch (located
on the switch bank). The light on the switch
will turn off.
What are possible reasons the engine does not
autostop?
• The hood is ajar.
• Driver's door is open.
• Driver's seat belt is unbuckled.
