BMW Motorrad wants you to
have a great time with your mo-
torcycle. That's why you should
be aware that the HP4 Race is
a very special motorcycle whose
unique purpose is for racing. En-
gine power at superbike world
z
championship level and a weight
close to that of a MotoGP motor-
cycle creates extraordinary driving
dynamics that are not compa-
rable with a road-approved mo-
torcycle. This requires a calm
riding style, particularly in the ini-
tial turns. Gradually get used to
the ride feeling, throttle response,
control characteristics of the as-
sistance systems, engine power
and braking response. Familiar-
ize yourself with the racing sport
features. Read this rider's man-
ual and observe the warnings and
notes.
Rider's Equipment
Never ride without wearing the
right clothing! Always wear:
Helmet
Leather combination suit
Back protector
Gloves
Boots
This applies throughout the
whole year. Your authorized
BMW Motorrad retailer will be
happy to advise you and has
the correct clothing for every
purpose.
Speed
While riding at high speeds on
the racing track, always bear in
mind that various boundary con-
ditions can adversely affect the
handling of your motorcycle:
Settings of spring-strut and
shock absorber system
incorrect tire pressure
worn racing tires
temperature and condition of
the road
Etc.
Risk of poisoning
Exhaust fumes contain carbon
monoxide, which is colorless and
odorless but highly toxic.
WARNING
Harmful exhaust gas
Danger of suffocation
Do not inhale exhaust fumes.
Do not run the engine in
closed rooms.
