Chapter 4: Configuring the 5500 Express IP Control Unit
Step 4: From the Main Menu (M00), select Configure.
Step 5: Select Configuration Menu (C11), Backup Hardware
Configuration (C30) and preserve your configuration.
Note: If you need to replace a defective 5500 Control Unit, you must retain a
current copy of the configuration on the 5500 Utility Diskette using these
steps.
Step 1: Select from the Main Menu (M00), Utilities, Create Recovery File
(U10). Follow the online instructions to save your configuration on the 5500
Utility Diskette.
Creating an administrator ID ensures that only the appropriate personnel can
access and change the configuration settings for the 5500 Express IP Control
Unit. There can only be one administrator ID per 5500 Control Unit.
Select:
• Create Administration ID and enter an ID and password. Your
password must contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 characters
and letters.
• Select Delete Administration ID if you do not want to be prompted for
an Administrator's ID and password upon starting the configuration
program. Warning: This action removes security controls from the
program.
Lost Password
If you need to replace a lost password, follow these steps:
Step 1: Locate the Utility diskette shipped with your 5500 Control Unit.
Step 2: Use the procedure found in Appendix 'E' on page 179 to delete the
password.
Step 1: From the ConfigurationPlus Main Menu, select Set Date and Time.
The Current Date and Time window appears.
Step 2: Select Change Date and Time on IBM 5500 option. The Set Date
and Time window appears.
Step 3: Using the arrows, select the correct month. Enter the time. Select AM
or PM. Select OK.
