Cause
This message appears if the wrong
port is selected.
• This message appears if the text is
longer than 3' 3 1/3" (1 meter) when
you try to print.
• This message appears if the Length
function is used to set a label
length that is less than 1.6" (4.0
cm) or more than 11.8" (30.0 cm).
• This message appears if the Tab
Length function is used to set a tab
length that is more than 11.8"
(30.0 cm).
This message appears if the number
of lines in the text is greater than the
maximum number of lines possible
for the installed tape.
This message appears if you try to
store a text file after the maximum
number of characters has already
been stored in the memory.
Remedy
Windows
Under "Print to the following
port" in the printer Properties
dialog box, select "PTUSB:" for
the USB connection.

If two or more of the same
P-touch models are con-
nected through their USB
ports, instead of "PTUSB:",
select
"PTUSB
2600/2610-XXXXXXXXX):"
(where XXXXXXXXX is the
serial number). The serial
number is written above the
barcode on the silver label
attached to the bottom of
the P-touch.
Macintosh
In the Chooser, select the PT-
2600/2610 as the printer.
• Shorten the text to less than 3'
3 1/3" (1 meter) before trying
to print.
• Set the label length between
1.6" (4.0 cm) and 11.8" (30.0
cm).
• Set the tab length so that it is
less than 11.8" (30.0 cm).
Reduce the number of lines or
install a tape of greater width.
Delete an unwanted file to make
room for the new one.
